Overview
Canon G690 is a compact multifunctional printer which is suitable for homes, small offices, and students. It is a part of Canon’s MegaTank series of inkjet printers which is known for their refillable ink tanks and runs on very low cost. Canon G690 is a great choice for photo printing.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Cut the seal and open the flaps to open the box.
- Take out any included manuals, power cables, and USB devices.
- Remove the printer’s foam and plastic by lifting it out.
- Remove the tape, peel off the orange and blue tapes on the outside and inside.
- To install toner, shake the cartridge, take off the seal, and put it in.
- Insert paper after adjusting the tray.
- Connect power.

Canon G690 setup on Windows
Setup guide for Canon G690 on Windows with Wifi:
- Power on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon G690 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Download Drivers:
- Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
- When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.

- Turn the printer on:
- Plug into the power cord and press the power button to turn the printer on.
- Connect the Printer to Your PC:
- Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your PC.

Canon G690 setup on macOS
Setting up Canon G690 on Mac with Wifi:
- Power on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon G690 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Download Drivers:
- Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
- Select your macOS version from the dropdown (e.g., macOS Ventura, Monterey, etc.).
- When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Add Printer to Mac (If Required):
- Go to system settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click on add a printer, scanner, fax.
- The Mac will automatically detect the Canon G690.
- Select it and click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Setting up Canon G690 on Mac with USB:
- Power on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Download Drivers:

- Connect the Printer to Your Mac:
- Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your Mac.
- Add Printer to Mac (If needed):
- Go to system settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click on add printer or scanner.
- Mac will automatically detect the Canon G690.
- Select it and click Add.
- Print the Test page:

Canon G690 setup on iPhone & iPad
Setting up Canon G690 on IOS with Wifi:
- Turn the printer on:
- Plug into the power cord and press the power button to turn the printer on.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
- Search for “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY”.
- Tap Download and install the app.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon G690 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Add Printer:
- Click on the “+” icon (usually at the top or bottom of the screen) to add a printer.
- App will search for printers on your Wi-Fi network.
- Your device will automatically detect Canon G690.
- Select it and click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Setting up Canon G690 on IOS with AirPrint:
- You can also use AirPrint to print without downloading any app:
- Open an image, email, or document.
- Click on the share icon.
- Select Print.
- Select Canon G690 from the printer list.
- Click Print.
Canon G690 setup on Android
- Turn on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the power button.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon G690 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Open the Play Store on your Phone.
- Search for “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY”.
- Tap Download and install the app.
- Connect Printer to Wi-Fi Using App:
- In the Canon PRINT app, click “Add Printer”.
- Select “Register Printer” > “Connect via Wireless Router”.
- App will automatically detect your printer.
- Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect.
- Print the Test page:

Setting up Canon G690 on ChromeOS Wifi:
- Power on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the power button.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon PIXMA G690 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Add Printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the Settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then Printers.
- Click the Add printer option to connect the Printer.
- Your Canon G690 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.

- Power on the Printer:

- In the Settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.

- Your Canon G690 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.

Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected.
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also, ensure that there is enough ink.
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take them out of the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure that the paper tray is not jammed. You can now shut off the paper tray.
- Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
- Make sure that the WIFI connection is stable.
- Update the Driver:
- Outdated drivers may cause problems.
- Check for the latest driver updates for your printer model.
- Download and install the updated driver.
