Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Unbox and Prepare the Printer
- Remove all packaging materials and protective tapes.
- Install the print heads and fill all 6 ink tanks with the provided ink bottles.
- Power on the printer and complete the initial setup (language, ink charging, and alignment).

Canon G650 setup on Windows
- Choose a connection method: USB or Wi-Fi.
- For Wi-Fi: Use the Canon setup software to connect the printer to your network.
- Navigate to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Click Add a printer or scanner and select Canon G650 from the list.
- Print a test page to confirm successful installation and connectivity.
Canon G650 setup on macOS
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Wi-Fi Setup.
- Select your wireless network and enter the Wi-Fi password.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page.
- Open the downloaded installer and follow the prompts to install.
- Open System Settings (or Preferences) > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the “+” button and select Canon G650 from the list.
- Click Add to complete the setup.
- Print a test page to verify successful installation.
Canon G650 setup on iPhone & iPad
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Wi-Fi Setup.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect.
- Install Canon Print App on iOS
- Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
- Download and install Canon Print app.
- Open the Canon Print app and tap Add Printer.
- The app will search for available printers on your network.
- Select Canon G650 to complete the connection.
- Use the Canon app or AirPrint to print photos, documents, or scan directly from your iOS device.
Canon G650 setup on Android
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Wi-Fi Setup.
- Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect.
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
- Search for Canon Print app and install the app.
- Launch the app and tap Add Printer.
- The app will search for devices on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Select Canon G650 to connect.
- Use the app to print photos, documents, or scan directly from your Android phone or tablet.
Canon G650 setup on Chromebook
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Wi-Fi Setup.
- Select your wireless network and enter your Wi-Fi password.
- Ensure your Chromebook is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
- Add Printer on Chromebook
- Click the time in the bottom-right corner of your Chromebook screen and open Settings.
- Go to Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- Click Add Printer.
- Select Canon G650 from the list of available devices and click Add.
- Open a document, press Ctrl + P, select the G650, and print to confirm the setup.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
- Check WiFi connection:
- Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the Wi-Fi connection is stable
- Reset the printer:
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers:
- If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
