Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Unbox and Prepare the Printer
- Remove all packaging and protective materials.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the print heads and fill the 6 ink tanks using the included ink bottles.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon G610 setup on Windows
- Choose a connection method: USB or Wi-Fi.
- For Wi-Fi: Use the setup software to connect the printer to your wireless network.
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Click Add a printer or scanner and select Canon G610 from the list.
- Follow any remaining setup steps.
- Print a test page to confirm successful installation.
Canon G610 setup on macOS
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Wi-Fi Setup.
- Select your wireless network and enter the password to connect.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen installation instructions.
- Go to System Settings (or Preferences) > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the “+” button to add a new printer.
- Select Canon G610 from the list and click Add.
- Open any document and print to ensure the setup is successful.
Canon G610 setup on iPhone & iPad
- On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Wi-Fi Setup.
- Select your wireless network and enter the password to connect.
- Install Canon Print App on iOS
- Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
- Download and install the Canon Print app.
- Open the app and tap Add Printer.
- The app will detect the Canon G610 on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Tap your printer to complete the setup.
Canon G610 setup on Android
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Wi-Fi Setup.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect.
- Open the Google Play Store and download the Canon Print app.
- Open the app and grant necessary permissions.
- Tap Add Printer and let the app search for devices on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Select Canon G610 and follow prompts to connect.
- Start Printing or Scanning
- Use the app to print photos, documents, or scan directly from your Android device.
Canon G610 setup on Chromebook
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Wi-Fi Setup.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect.
- Ensure Chromebook is on the Same Network
- Connect your Chromebook to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
- Click the clock in the bottom-right > Settings.
- Go to Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- Click Add Printer.
- Select Canon G610 from the detected list and click Add.
- Print a Document
- Open a document, press Ctrl + P, and select the Canon G610 from the printer list to start printing.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
- Check WiFi connection:
- Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the Wi-Fi connection is stable
- Reset the printer:
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers:
- If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
