Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon G6050 setup on Windows
- Remove all packaging materials and protective tape from the printer and its components.
- Use the provided ink bottles to fill the tanks carefully, following the guide in the manual. 3. Connect the power cable and turn on the printer using the power button.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Launch the setup file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Choose between Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or USB during installation.
- For wireless, use the printer’s control panel to connect to your network (SSID and password required).
- Let the software detect the printer and finish the setup.
- Print a test page to ensure everything is working correctly.
Canon G6050 setup on macOS
- Remove all packaging materials and protective tape.
- Use the supplied ink bottles to fill each tank as instructed.
- Plug in the printer and press the power button to turn it on.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen installation steps.
- Choose Connection Method: Select Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or USB during setup.
- Wi-Fi Setup: Use the printer’s control panel to connect to your Wi-Fi network (SSID and password required).
- The installer will detect the printer and finalize the setup.
- If needed, go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners and add the printer manually.
- Confirm successful setup by printing a test page.
Canon G6050 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Remove packaging materials and fill the ink tanks with the included ink bottles.
- Plug in the printer and press the power button.
- Use the printer’s control panel to connect to your wireless network (SSID and password required).
- Install the Canon Print app from the App Store.
- Open the app and grant necessary permissions for connection.
- Tap Add Printer and let the app search for printers on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Choose the Canon G6050 from the list.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finalize the setup.
- Use the app to print a test page, document, or photo.
Canon G6050 setup on Android
- Remove packaging materials and fill the ink tanks with the supplied ink bottles.

Canon G6050 setup on Chromebook
- Remove all packaging and fill the ink tanks using the included bottles.
- Plug in the printer and turn it on.
- Use the printer’s control panel to connect to your Wi-Fi network (select SSID and enter password).
- Connect your Chromebook to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
- On your Chromebook, go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- If your Canon G6050 appears in the list, click Add.
- Manual Setup (if needed): Click Add Printer, enter the printer name and IP address, and choose IPP as the protocol.
- Confirm the settings and click Add to finish setup.
- Send a test print to ensure everything works.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
- Check WiFi connection:
- Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the Wi-Fi connection is stable
- Reset the printer:
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers:
- If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
