Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon G6045 setup on Windows
- Unbox and Assemble: Remove the printer from its packaging, install the ink tanks, and load paper into the tray.
- Press the power button to turn on the printer.
- On the printer’s touchscreen, navigate to the wireless settings and select your Wi-Fi network. Enter the Wi-Fi password to connect.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer drivers and Canon software.
- During the installation, select the option to connect via Wi-Fi (or USB if preferred).
- Follow prompts to complete the connection.
- Once installed, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners and set the Canon G6045 as the default printer.
Canon G6045 setup on macOS
- Unbox and Prepare Printer: Remove the printer from the box, install the ink tanks, and load paper into the tray.
- Press the power button to turn on the printer.
- Use the printer’s touchscreen to navigate to the Wi-Fi settings.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and follow the installation instructions to set up the printer on your Mac.
- Choose the wireless connection option when prompted during installation. If using a USB cable, connect it when directed.
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners and select the Canon G6045 as your default printer.
Canon G6045 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Remove the printer from the box, install the ink tanks, and load paper into the tray.
- Press the power button to turn on the printer.
- On the printer’s touchscreen, navigate to the wireless settings and connect to your Wi-Fi network by entering the password.
- Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad, search for Canon Print app on App Store, and install the app.
- Launch the Canon Print app on your iOS device.
- The app will automatically detect nearby printers.
- Select the Canon G6045 from the list.
- Open the document or photo you want to print, then tap the print icon in the app and select the Canon G6045 to start printing directly from your iOS device.
Canon G6045 setup on Android
- Remove the printer from the packaging, install the ink tanks, and load paper into the tray.
- Press the power button to turn on the printer.
- On the printer’s touchscreen, navigate to the wireless settings and connect to your Wi-Fi network by entering the password.
- Go to the Google Play Store, search for Canon Print app, and install the app on your Android device.
- Launch the Canon Print app on your Android phone or tablet.
- The app will search for nearby printers. Select the Canon G6045 from the list.
- Choose the document or photo you want to print, and tap the print button to start printing directly from your Android device.
Canon G6045 setup on Chromebook
- Remove the printer from the box, install the ink tanks, and load paper into the tray.
- Press the power button to turn on the printer.
- On the printer’s touchscreen, navigate to the wireless settings and connect to your Wi-Fi network by entering the password.
- Ensure your Chromebook supports Google Cloud Print or is using a direct wireless connection.
- Add Printer to Chromebook:
- Open Settings on your Chromebook.
- Scroll down to Advanced and select Printing.
- Click Printers and then Add Printer.
- Your Canon G6045 should appear in the list of available printers. Select it.
- Try printing a test page from any document or image to confirm the setup is complete and the printer is working.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
- Check WiFi connection:
- Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the Wi-Fi connection is stable
- Reset the printer:
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers:
