Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon G6020 setup on Windows
- Use the printer’s control panel to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
- Select Wireless Setup > choose your network > enter the password.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and follow on-screen instructions.
- During installation, choose Wireless Connection if using Wi-Fi.
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Click Add a printer or scanner and select Canon G6020.
- Windows will automatically install the correct driver if not already done.
- Open a document and choose File > Print, then select your G6020 printer.
Canon G6020 setup on macOS
- Connect Printer to Wi-Fi
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Wireless LAN Setup.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded .dmg file and run the installer.
- Follow on-screen prompts and select Wireless Connection when asked.
- Add Printer on macOS
- Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the “+” button and select Canon G6020 from the list.
- Choose “Secure AirPrint” or Canon driver from the “Use” dropdown.
- Print a Test Page
- Open any document, go to File > Print, and select the Canon G6020.
Canon G6020 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Power on your Canon G6020 and connect it to your Wi-Fi network via the printer’s control panel.
- Ensure your iPhone or iPad is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Download the Canon Print app from the App Store.
- Open the app and grant necessary permissions (like Bluetooth or local network access).
- Tap “Add Printer” or the “+” icon in the app.
- The app will search and display nearby printers—select Canon G6020.
- If not found, use Manual Setup and enter the printer’s IP address (available in printer settings).
- Once the printer is added, it’s ready for wireless printing.
- You can also use AirPrint: open any document or photo, tap Share > Print, then select Canon G6020.
- Adjust settings as needed and tap Print.
Canon G6020 setup on Android
- Power on your Canon G6020 and connect it to your Wi-Fi network using the control panel.
- Make sure your Android phone or tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Go to the Google Play Store and download the Canon Print app.
- Open the Canon Print app and grant permissions if prompted.
- Tap “Add Printer” or the plus (+) icon.
- The app will search for nearby printers; select Canon G6020 when it appears.
- If not found, choose Manual Setup and enter the printer’s IP address (available via printer’s network settings).
- Once added, the app will confirm the printer is ready.
- To print, open the file or photo, tap Share > Canon PRINT, then choose your printer and settings.
- Tap Print to complete the job.
Canon G6020 setup on Chromebook
- Turn on your Canon G6020 and connect it to your Wi-Fi network using the printer’s control panel.
- Make sure your Chromebook is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- On your Chromebook, click the clock in the bottom-right corner and select the Settings gear icon.
- Scroll down and click Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- Click Add Printer. Your Canon G6020 should appear in the list.
- If it doesn’t show up, click add manually, then enter the printer’s IP address (find it on the printer’s network settings).
- Name the printer, set protocol to IPP, and path to /ipp/print.
- Open a document or webpage, press Ctrl + P, select your Canon G6020, and click Print.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
- Check WiFi connection:
- Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the WiFi connection is stable
- Reset the printer:
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers:
- If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
