Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon G6010 setup on Windows
- Unbox, install cartridges, and put the printer on.
- Turn on your Canon G6010 printer and ensure it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Windows PC.
- Download the drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and run the installer.
- Select “Wireless LAN Connection” during installation.
- If your printer isn’t connected to Wi-Fi, follow the Easy Wireless Connect method:
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the indicator flashes.
- Follow on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
- Once connected, the installer will detect the printer. Select your Canon G6010 and complete the installation.
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers to verify that the printer is listed.
- Print a test page to confirm the setup is complete.
Canon G6010 setup on macOS
- Unbox, install cartridges and put the printer on.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded .dmg file and run the installer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Connect Printer:
- During installation, you’ll be prompted to connect your printer.
- You can connect via USB, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi.
- After installation, go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the “+” button to add a new printer.
- Select your Canon G6010 from the list.
- Choose the appropriate driver from the “Use” dropdown menu.
- Click Add to complete the setup.
- Print a test page to confirm operation
Canon G6010 setup on iPhone & iPad
- During installation, you’ll be prompted to connect your printer.
- You can connect via USB, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi.
- After installation, go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the “+” button to add a new printer.
- Select your Canon G6010 from the list.
- Choose the appropriate driver from the “Use” dropdown menu.
- Click Add to complete the setup.
- Print a test page to confirm operation
Canon G6010 setup on Android
- Ensure your Canon G6010 is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Android device.
- Use the printer’s control panel to connect to Wi-Fi.
- Download and install the Canon Print app from the Google Play Store.
- Open the Canon Print app.
- Tap on Add Printer
- Your Canon G6010 should appear. Tap on it to add.
- Open the document or photo you want to print.
- Tap the Share icon and select Canon Print
- Choose the Canon G6010 as the printer and print.
Canon G6010 setup on Chromebook
- Connect Printer to Network
- Ensure your Canon G6010 is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromebook.
- Use the printer’s control panel or the Canon IJ Network Tool to connect it.
- Open Settings on your Chromebook.
- Go to Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- Your Canon G6010 should appear in the list of available printers.
- Print from Chromebook
- When printing, select Print from any app.
- Choose your Canon G6010 as the destination printer.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
- Check WiFi connection:
- Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the Wi-Fi connection is stable
- Reset the printer:
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers:
- If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
