Overview

The Canon G600 series is a line of high-performance MegaTank inkjet printers designed for professional photographers, creative professionals, and small businesses seeking cost-effective, high-quality photo printing solutions. These printers utilise refillable ink tanks that deliver exceptional page yields, reducing the frequency and cost of ink replacements.

Unboxing & Initial Setup

  • Take the printer out of the box.
  • Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
  • Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
  • Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
  • Install the toner cartridges.
  • Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon G600 setup on Windows

  1. Unbox and Prepare the Printer
  2. Remove all packaging materials.
  3. Install the print head and fill the ink tanks with the provided ink bottles.
  4. Load plain paper into the rear tray.
  5. Connect the power cable and turn on the printer.
  6. On the printer’s LCD screen, navigate to Setup > Wireless LAN Setup.
  7. Select Easy Wireless Connect and follow the prompts to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
  8. Download drivers from the bottom of the page
  9. Run the downloaded .exe file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.
  10. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  11. Select Canon G600 from the list and click Add device.
  12. Open a document or image and select File > Print.
  13. Choose Canon G600 and click Print to verify the setup.

Troubleshooting Steps

  • Check the power:
    • Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
  • Check the cartridges:
    • Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
  • Check paper:
    • If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
  • Check WiFi connection:
    • Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
    • Make sure that the WiFi connection is stable
  • Reset the printer:
    • Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
  • Update printer drivers:
    • If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
