The Canon G510 is a high-performance photo printer designed for enthusiasts and small businesses seeking quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Equipped with a continuous ink tank system, it delivers vibrant, border less prints with a wide colour gamut, thanks to its six-color ink setup, including red and gray inks.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon G510 setup on Windows
- Remove all packaging materials and install ink bottles
- Place plain paper in the rear tray and adjust the guides.
- Plug in the printer and press the power button.
- On the printer, go to Setup > Wireless LAN Setup > Easy Wireless Connect.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Select Wireless Connection during setup.
- The software will detect the printer and guide it to connect to your Wi-Fi.
- Finish the setup once the printer is successfully connected.
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers to verify it’s listed.
- Right-click the printer icon and select Print Test Page.
Canon G510 setup on macOS
- Remove all packaging, install the ink bottles and load paper.
- Plug in and turn on the printer.
- On the printer, go to Setup > Wireless LAN Setup > Easy Wireless Connect.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page.
- Open the downloaded file and follow the prompts.
- During installation, select Wi-Fi as your connection type.
- The installer will help the printer join your Wi-Fi network.
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click “+” and select the G510 from the list.
- Print a Test Page: Confirm the setup by printing a test document.
Canon G510 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Remove all packaging, install ink bottles, and load paper.
- Plug in and turn on the printer.
- On the printer, go to Setup > Wireless LAN Setup > Easy Wireless Connect.
- Follow on-screen prompts to put the printer into Wi-Fi connection mode.
- Open the App Store on your iOS device.
- Search for and install Canon Print app.
- Open the app and tap Add Printer.
- The app will detect the Canon G510 if your device is on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Follow in-app steps to register the printer and complete connection.
- Use the app or AirPrint to print a test document/photo.
Canon G510 setup on Android
- Remove packaging, install ink bottles and load paper.
- Plug in and turn on the printer.
- On the printer, go to Setup > Wireless LAN Setup > Easy Wireless Connect.
- Follow the prompts to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
- Search for Canon Print app and install it.
- Open the app and tap Add Printer.
- The app will scan and detect your Canon G510 if it’s on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the connection.
- Use the app to print a test document or photo.
Canon G510 setup on Chromebook
- Remove all packaging, install the ink bottles, and load paper into the rear tray.
- Plug in the printer and press the power button.
- On the printer, go to Setup > Wireless LAN Setup > Easy Wireless Connect.
- Follow the prompts to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
- Ensure your Chromebook is on the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
- Click the clock > gear icon to open Settings.
- Scroll down and click Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- Click Add Printer. It should auto-detect the Canon G510.
- Select the printer and click Add to complete setup.
- Open any document, click Print, and select the G510 to test.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
- Check WiFi connection:
- Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the WiFi connection is stable
- Reset the printer:
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers:
- If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
