Overview

The Canon G510 is a high-performance photo printer designed for enthusiasts and small businesses seeking quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Equipped with a continuous ink tank system, it delivers vibrant, border less prints with a wide colour gamut, thanks to its six-color ink setup, including red and gray inks.

Unboxing & Initial Setup

  1. Take the printer out of the box.
  2. Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
  3. Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
  4. Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
  5. Install the toner cartridges.
  6. Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon G510 setup on Windows

  1. Remove all packaging materials and install ink bottles
  2. Place plain paper in the rear tray and adjust the guides.
  3. Plug in the printer and press the power button.
  4. On the printer, go to Setup > Wireless LAN Setup > Easy Wireless Connect.
  5. Download drivers from the bottom of the page
  6. Select Wireless Connection during setup.
  7. The software will detect the printer and guide it to connect to your Wi-Fi.
  8. Finish the setup once the printer is successfully connected.
  9. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers to verify it’s listed.
  10. Right-click the printer icon and select Print Test Page.

Troubleshooting Steps

  • Check the power:
    • Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
  • Check the cartridges:
    • Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
  • Check paper:
    • If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
  • Check WiFi connection:
    • Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
    • Make sure that the WiFi connection is stable
  • Reset the printer:
    • Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
  • Update printer drivers:
    • If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
