Overview
Canon PIXMA G5090 is a mono functional, integrated ink tank printer. It is designed for high volume color and black and white printing. It is featured with a Continuous Ink Supply System (CISS) that replaces expensive cartridges with high-yield, mess-free ink bottles as it is a part of Canon’s MegaTank series.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Plug in the power cord and turn on the printer.
- Install the ink.
- Load plain LTR or A4 size paper.

Canon G5090 setup on Windows
- Download Drivers:
- Download the driver package from the bottom of the page.
- Once the installation is completed , run the installed file.
- Prepare the printer:
- Press wireless LAN setup.
- Press Ok.
- Choose other setup.
- Then cableless setup.
- Tap on wireless LAN setup.
- Select your wifi network from the available list.
- Enter the password.
- Add Printer:
- Open the system preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
USB Setup (Wired Setup):
- Download Drivers:
- Download the driver package from the bottom of the page.
- Once the installation is completed , run the file.
- Connect the USB Cable to your printer:
- Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your Mac.
- On your Mac click on the system preference option.
- Now click on Printer and Scanners.
- The available printers list will appear on the screen, select your Canon PIXMA G5090.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon G5090 setup on macOS
- Connect to the Wifi:
- Turn on your Canon PIXMA G5090.
- Make sure your Iphone/Ipad is connected to the secure internet connection.
- Ensure that your printer and device are on the same network.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Go to the app store.
- Search for the “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App”.
- Download and install the app.
- Add printer:
- Go to the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app.
- Now follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer.
- App will search for the available printers, Select your Canon PIXMA G5090 from the available list.
- Click on Add printer.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon G5090 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Download the app from the play store.
- Add the printer on the app:
- Click on the add icon on the phone.
- Now click on the register printer.
- Select your Canon PIXMA G5090.
- Now the printer is installed on your phone.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Printer not connecting to wifi:
- Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
- Solutions:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
- Place the printer close to the router
- Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
- Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
- Restart the router and printer
- Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
- Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
- Solutions:
- Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
- Restart your printer and device
- Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
- For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
- On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
- Solutions:
- Paper Jam:
- Solutions:
- Turn off the printer
- Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
- Check for torn paper pieces
- Restart the printer
- Solutions:
- Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaks, Missing Colors)
- Solution:
- Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
- Run Print Head Cleaning:
- Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
- Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
- Ensure you’re using compatible paper
- Solution:
