Canon G4080 is a color inkjet printer which also offers scan and copy functionality. It comes in a very compact and sleek design. It supports both wired (USB) and wireless connectivity.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Remove the outer packaging of the box and take the printer out of it.
- Take all the accessories from the box.
- Remove all the protective tape from the printer.
- Connect the power cord, and then press the ON button.
- Install the ink cartridges.
- Load plain or A4 size paper.

Canon G4080 setup on Windows
WIFI Setup
- Connect the wifi to the printer
- Ensure the printer and computer are connected on the same network
- Now search for a wireless network
- Select your network
- Enter the password
- Connect Canon G4080 to your selected wifi network
- Your printer is connected
- Download the Drivers
- Download and install the driver from the bottom of the page
- Once the installation is completed, run the installed file
- Print the Test page
- Print a test page to confirm the setup
USB Setup (Wired Setup):
- Download the Drivers
- Download and install the necessary drivers from the bottom of the page
- Once the driver installation is completed, run the installed file
- Connect the USB Cable to your printer
- Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your PC
- Go to the settings of your PC
- Search for bluetooth and devices
- Click on Printers and Scanners
- From the available printers list select your Canon G4080
- Print the Test page
- Print a test page to confirm the setup
Canon G4080 setup on macOS
Wi-Fi/Wireless:
- Download Drivers
- Download the driver package from the bottom of the page
- Once the installation is completed , run the installed file
- Connect the Printer to wifi
- Select wifi connection
- Enter the password
- Connect Canon G4080 to your selected wifi network
- Add Printer
- Open the system preferences Printers Scanners
- Select your printer and click Add
- Print the Test page
- Print a test page to confirm the setup
Wired/USB Connection:
- Download Drivers
- Download the driver package from the bottom of the page
- Once the installation is completed , run the file
- Connect the USB Cable to your printer
- Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your Mac
- On your Mac click on the system preference option
- Now click on Printer and Scanners
- The available printers list will appear on the screen, select your Canon G4080
- Print the Test page
- Print a test page to confirm the setup
Canon G4080 setup on iPhone & iPad
iOS only support Wireless Connections
- Connect to the Wifi
- Turn on your Canon G4080
- Make sure your iPhone/iPad is connected to the secure internet connection
- Ensure that your printer and device are on the same network
- Install the Canon PRINT InkjetSELPHY App
- Go to the app store
- Search for the “Canon PRINT InkjetSELPHY App”
- Download and install the app
- Add printer
- Go to the Canon PRINT InkjetSELPHY app
- Now follow the onscreen instructions to add your printer
- App will search for the available printers, Select your Canon G4080 from the available list
- Click on Add printer
- Print the Test page
- Print a test page to confirm the setup
Canon G4080 setup on Android
- Install the Canon PRINT InkjetSELPHY App
- Download the app from the play store
- Add the printer on the app
- Click on the add icon on the phone
- Now click on the register printer
- Select your Canon G4080
- Now the printer is installed on your phone
- Print the Test page
- Print a test page to confirm the setup
Canon G4080 setup on Chromebook
Wireless/Wi-fi:
- Connect the printer to Wifi connection
- Choose your wifi connection from the available networks
- Enter the password
- Wait until the printer displays connected
- Add Printer
- Click the Settings icon
- In the Settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom
- Click Printing and then Printers
- Your Canon G4080 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same WiFi
- Click Add
- Print the Test page
- Print a test page to confirm the setup
Wired/USB:
- Connect the printer to USB Cable
- Plug the USB Cable into the printer and the other end to your Chromebook
- Add printer
- Click the Settings icon
- In the settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom
- Click Printing and then printers
- Click on the Add Printer option
- Your Canon G4080 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same WiFi
- Click Add
- Print the Test page
- Print a test page to confirm the setup
Troubleshooting Steps
- Printer not connecting to wifi
- Possible Causes Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware
- Ensure your WiFi password is correct
- Place the printer close to the router
- Rerun Easy Wireless Connect
- Press Setup WiFi Setup Easy Wireless Connect
- Restart the router and printer
- Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
- Print Not Detected by computer or mobile
- Ensure both printer and device are on the same WiFi network
- Restart your printer and device
- Reinstall the Canon PRINT InkjetSELPHY app for mobile
- For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
- On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
- Paper Jam
- Turn off the printer
- Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
- Check for torn paper pieces
- Restart the printer
- Poor Print Quality Faded, Streaks, Missing Colors
- Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
- Run Print Head Cleaning
- Press Setup Maintenance/Cleaning
- Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
- Ensure you’re using compatible paper
