Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Remove packaging materials.
- Plug in the printer, and turn it on.
- Open the panel and install the cartridges.
- Load preferred paper into the tray.

Canon G4070 setup on Windows
- Download software package and drivers from the bottom of the page.
- Choose between USB, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet. For Wi-Fi, press and hold the Wi-Fi button until the light flashes.
- Use the downloaded setup program to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
- Follow on-screen instructions to finish.
- Print a test page to confirm successful setup.
Canon G4070 setup on macOS
- Download drivers and software package from the bottom of the page.
- Open the downloaded file and follow on-screen instructions.
- Hold the Wi-Fi button until it flashes.
- Use the Canon IJ Setup Assistant to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi.
- Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click ”+”, select your printer, and add it.
- Confirm setup by printing a test page.
Canon G4070 setup on iPhone & iPad
iOS only support Wireless Connections
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the light flashes.
- Use the Canon Print app on your iPhone or iPad by downloading it.
- Follow the app’s instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
- Open the app; it should automatically detect the G4070 on the same network.
- Use the app to print photos, documents, and scan to your iOS device.
- The printer supports AirPrint—print directly from iOS apps without extra setup.
Canon G4070 setup on Android
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the light flashes.
- Use the Canon Print app on your Android device by downloading it.
- Follow in-app instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
- Open the app, it will detect your G4070 on the same Wi-Fi.
- Use the app to print photos, documents, or scan directly to your phone.
Canon G4070 setup on Chromebook
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button until it flashes.
- Connect the printer to your Wi-Fi using the Canon Print app on a smartphone.
- On your Chromebook, go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- Your Canon G4070 should appear automatically if it’s on the same Wi-Fi.
- Select it and click Add.
- Open a document and print to verify setup.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also make sure that there is enough ink and that the cartridges fit the model of your printer
- Check paper
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure there are no jams in the printer. You can now shut off the paper tray.
- Check Wi-Fi connection
- Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
- Make sure that the Wi-Fi is stable
- Reset the printer
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers
- If the drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
