Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Remove packaging materials
- Plug in the printer, and turn it on.
- Open the panel and install the cartridges.
- Load preferred paper into the tray.

Canon G3963 setup on Windows
- Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the Wi-Fi light flashes to enter Easy Wireless Connect mode.
- Download drivers and software package from the bottom of the page
- Run the downloaded setup file and click Start Setup.
- Follow the on-screen prompts, selecting Wireless LAN Connection as the connection method.
- The setup tool will detect the printer and guide you through connecting it to your Wi-Fi network.
- Complete driver installation and printer registration if prompted.
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers to ensure the printer is listed.
- Print a test page to confirm successful wireless setup and functionality.
Canon G3963 setup on macOS
- Press and hold the Wireless button until the Wi-Fi indicator flashes, activating Easy Wireless Connect mode.
- Download drivers and software package from the bottom of the page
- When prompted, select Wireless LAN Connection as your connection method.
- The setup utility will detect the printer on your Wi-Fi network and guide you through the installation.
- Follow the on-screen steps to complete driver and software installation.
- Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners, click the + button, and select the G3963 from the list.
- Confirm it appears and set it as the default printer.
- Print a test page to ensure everything is functioning properly.
Canon G3963 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Press and hold the Wireless button until the Wi-Fi indicator begins flashing to enter Easy Wireless Connect mode.
- On your iPhone or iPad, go to the App Store and download the Canon Print app.
- Launch the app and allow required permissions (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.).
- Tap Add Printer > Register Printer > Easy Connection and follow the prompts.
- The app will detect the G3963 and help you connect it to your Wi-Fi network.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password if prompted.
- Once connected, the printer will be registered in the app and ready to use.
- You can now print photos and documents directly from the app.
- Also, use AirPrint by selecting the G3963 when printing from iOS apps.
- Print a test page to confirm the connection is successful.
Canon G3963 setup on Android
- Press and hold the Wireless button until the Wi-Fi light flashes, activating Easy Wireless Connect mode.
- On your Android device, open the Google Play Store and install the Canon Print app.
- Launch the app and grant the necessary permissions (location, Bluetooth, etc.).
- Tap Add Printer > Register Printer > Easy Connection and follow the on-screen instructions.
- The app will search for nearby printers and prompt you to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password when prompted.
- Once the connection is complete, the printer will be added to the app and ready to use.
- You can now print and scan directly from the app.
- Optionally, install the Canon Print Service Plugin for broader Android system support.
- Print a test page to confirm setup.
Canon G3963 setup on Chromebook
- Press and hold the Wireless button until the Wi-Fi indicator starts flashing (Easy Wireless Connect mode).
- Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromebook.
- On your Chromebook, click the time (bottom-right) and open Settings.
- Scroll down and click Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- Under Available Printers, your Canon G3963 should appear—click Add.
- If it doesn’t appear, click Add Printer manually.
- Enter the printer name, and in the Address field, input the printer’s IP address (from the printer’s network settings).
- Choose IPP as the protocol and Canon Inkjet or IPP Everywhere as the driver.
- Click Add to finish setup.
- Open any document or webpage, press Ctrl + P, and select the G3963 to print a test page.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly Also make sure that there is enough ink and that the cartridges fit the model of your printer
- Check paper
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up Make sure there are no jams in the printer You can now shut off the paper tray
- Check WiFi connection
- Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the WiFi is stable
- Reset the printer
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers
- If the drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
