Canon G3960 setup on Windows
- Install the ink bottles and load paper into the input tray.
- Press the power button to turn on the device.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Launch the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- When prompted, select Wireless Connection or USB, depending on your preference.
- For wireless, connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using Wi-Fi Setup > Easy Wireless Connect on the printer’s display
- The software will detect the printer and finish configuration.
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers and ensure the G3960 is listed.
- Print a test page to verify successful setup.
Canon G3960 setup on macOS
- Install ink bottles, load paper, and connect the power cable.
- Press the power button and wait for it to initialise.
- On the printer, go to Wi-Fi Setup > Easy Wireless Connect.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect it to your Wi-Fi network.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the Setup File. Choose the macOS version, then download and run the setup utility.
- Select Wireless Connection during the setup process.
- Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners, click the “+”, and select Canon G3960.
- Click Add, then set as default if desired.
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon G3960 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Install the ink bottles, load paper, and plug in the printer.
- Press the power button and wait for it to start up.
- On the printer’s display, go to Wi-Fi Setup > Easy Wireless Connect.
- Follow the instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
- Open the App Store and search for Canon Print app.
- Download and install the app.
- Launch the app and grant necessary permissions.
- Tap Add Printer > Register Printer > Connect via Wireless Router.
- Choose G3960 when it appears.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password if prompted, and confirm the connection.
- Open a document or photo and use the app to print.
Canon G3960 setup on Android
- Install the ink bottles, load paper, and connect the power cord.
- Press the power button and wait for initialisation.
- On the printer, go to Settings > Wi-Fi Setup > Easy Wireless Connect.
- Follow the prompts to put the printer in wireless setup mode.
- Install the Canon App: Open the Google Play Store and install Canon Print app
- Open the app and allow necessary permissions.
- Tap Add Printer > Register Printer > Connect via Wireless Router.
- Choose G3960 from the list once detected.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password if prompted and wait for connection confirmation.
- Use the app to print a test photo or document.
Canon G3960 setup on Chromebook
- Install the ink bottles, load paper, and plug in the printer.
- Press the power button and allow it to initialize.
- On the printer screen, go to Settings > Wi-Fi Setup > Easy Wireless Connect.
- Follow the on-screen steps to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
- Click the time at the bottom-right corner, then the Settings (gear) icon.
- Scroll down, click Advanced, then select Printing > Printers.
- Click Add Printer; your Canon G3960 should appear automatically.
- Choose the G3960 and click Add to complete setup.
- Open a document or webpage, press Ctrl + P, and select the Canon G3960 to print.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
- Check WiFi connection:
- Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the WiFi connection is stable
- Reset the printer:
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers:
- If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
