Canon G3900 setup on Windows
- Unbox the printer
- Install ink tanks as per given instructions
- Power the printer on by connecting it to a power source
- Load paper into the tray
- Connect via USB or WiFi
- For USB, plug the cable into your PC.
- For WiFi, press and hold the WiFi button until it flashes. Press the colour button once, then the WiFi button again. The WiFi light should flash rapidly.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Follow onscreen instructions to complete the setup
- Print a test page to confirm normal operation
Canon G3900 setup on macOS
- Unbox the printer
- Install ink tanks as per given instructions
- Power the printer on by connecting it to a power source
- Load paper into the tray
- Connect via USB or WiFi
- For USB, plug the cable into your PC.
- For WiFi, press and hold the WiFi button until it flashes. Press the colour button once, then the WiFi button again. The WiFi light should flash rapidly.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Follow on screen instructions to complete the setup
- Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners, and add the Canon G3900 if it doesn’t appear automatically.
- Print a test page to ensure the setup is complete.
Canon G3900 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Unbox the printer
- Install ink tanks as per given instructions
- Power the printer on by connecting it to a power source
- Load paper into the tray
- Connect via WiFi
- For WiFi, press and hold the WiFi button until it flashes. Press the colour button once, then the WiFi button again. The WiFi light should flash rapidly.
- Download Canon Print App from App Store
- Install the app and give necessary permissions
- Open the Canon Print app and follow the prompts to find and select your Canon G3900.
- Tap Add Printer > Register Printer > Connect via Network.
- The app will detect your Canon G3900—select it to complete setup.
- Make sure Canon G3900 and printer are connected to the same WiFi network
- After setup, you can print or scan directly from the app.
- You can also print via AirPrint from supported apps
Canon G3900 setup on Android
- Unbox the printer
- Install ink tanks as per given instructions
- Power the printer on by connecting it to a power source
- Load paper into the tray
- Connect via WiFi
- For WiFi, press and hold the WiFi button until it flashes. Press the colour button once, then the WiFi button again. The WiFi light should flash rapidly.
- Download Canon Print App from Google Play Store
- Install the app and give necessary permissions
- Open the Canon Print app and follow the prompts to find and select your Canon G3900.
- Ensure both the printer and Android device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open any document or photo on your Android device.
- Tap the Share icon, select Print, and choose the Canon G3900.
Canon G3900 setup on Chromebook
- Unbox the printer
- Install ink tanks as per given instructions
- Power the printer on by connecting it to a power source
- Load paper into the tray
- Connect via WiFi
- For WiFi, press and hold the WiFi button until it flashes. Press the colour button once, then the WiFi button again. The WiFi light should flash rapidly.
- Connect the Chromebook to the same WiFi connection
- Click the clock in the bottom right > Settings.
- Scroll to Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- Click Add Printer
- Canon G3900 should appear automatically (if it’s on the network).
- Click Add to complete the setup.
- Open any file and press Ctrl + P to print.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
- Check WiFi connection:
- Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the WiFi connection is stable
- Reset the printer:
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers:
- If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
