Canon G3821 is a high performer, cost effective printer which is designed for homes, students, small businesses. Canon G3821 gives reliable, high quality printing at a very low cost. It offers printing, copying, and scanning. Canon G3821 supports wireless connectivity. Canon G3821 is a part of the refillable MegaTank ink system, which significantly delivers high page yields at reduced per page cost. The prints are sharp black-and-white reports or vibrant color graphics.

Canon G3821 setup on Windows
WIFI Setup
- Power on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon G3821 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Download Drivers:
- Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
- When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Print the Test page:
- To make sure it’s functioning, try printing a test page from Word or Notepad.
USB Setup (Wired Setup):
- Power on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Download Drivers:
- Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
- When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Connect the Printer to Your PC:
- Connect USB cable when prompted.
- Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your PC.
- Print the Test page:
- To make sure it’s functioning, try printing a test page from Word or Notepad.
Canon G3821 setup on macOS
Wi-Fi/Wireless:
- Power on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon G3821 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Download Drivers:
- Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
- Select your macOS version from the dropdown (e.g., macOS Ventura, Monterey, etc.).
- When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Add Printer to Mac:
- Go to system settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click “+” to add a printer.
- The Mac will automatically detect the Canon G3821.
- Select it and click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- To make sure it’s functioning, try printing a test page from Word or Notepad.
Wired/USB Connection:
- Power on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Download Drivers:
- Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
- When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Connect the Printer to Your Mac:
- Connect USB cable when prompted.
- Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your Mac.
- Add Printer to Mac:
- Go to system settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click “+” to add a printer.
- The Mac will automatically detect the Canon G3821.
- Select it and click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- To make sure it’s functioning, try printing a test page from Word or Notepad.
- Open an image, email, or document.
- Click on the share icon.
- Select Print.
- Select Canon G3821from the printer list.
- Click Print.
Canon G3821 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Turn on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the power button.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon G3821 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
- Search for “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY”.
- Tap Download and install the app.
- Add Printer:
- Click on the “+” icon (usually at the top or bottom of the screen) to add a printer.
- App will search for printers on your Wi-Fi network.
- Your device will automatically detect Canon G3821.
- Select it and click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- To make sure it’s functioning, try printing a test page from Word or Notepad.
Canon G3821 setup on Android
- Turn on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the power button.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon G3821 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Open the Play Store on your Phone.
- Search for “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY”.
- Tap Download and install the app.
- Connect Printer to Wi-Fi Using App:
- In the Canon PRINT app, click “Add Printer”.
- Select “Register Printer” > “Connect via Wireless Router”.
- App will automatically detect your printer.
- Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect.
- Print the Test page:
- To make sure it’s functioning, try printing a test page from Word or Notepad.
Canon G3821 setup on Chromebook
Wireless/Wi-fi:
- Power on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon G3821 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Add Printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the Settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then Printers.
- Click the Add printer option to connect the Printer.
- Your Canon G3821 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- To make sure it’s functioning, try printing a test page from Word or Notepad.
Wired/USB:
- Power on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Connect the Printer to Your Chromebook:
- Connect USB cable when prompted.
- Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your Chromebook.
- Add Printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the Settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then Printers.
- Click the Add printer option to connect the Printer.
- Your Canon G3821 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- To make sure it’s functioning, try printing a test page from Word or Notepad.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected.
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also, ensure that there is enough ink.
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take them out of the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure that the paper tray is not jammed. You can now shut off the paper tray.
- Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
- Make sure that the WIFI connection is stable.
- Update the Driver:
- Outdated drivers may cause problems.
- Check for the latest driver updates for your printer model.
- Download and install the updated driver.
