Overview
Canon G2870 is a 3-in-1 functional ink tank printer which offers copying, printing, and scanning. It delivers high volume printing at low cost. Canon G2870 comes with a refillable ink tank system. It is suitable for homes and small businesses. Canon G2870 comes with high-yield ink bottles, which ensures to print thousands of pages before needing to be refilled which leads to long term savings.

Canon G2870 setup on Windows
- Power ON the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Connect the Printer to Your PC:
- Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your PC.
- Download Drivers:
- Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
- When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Print the Test page:
- To make sure it’s functioning, try printing a test page from Word or Notepad.
Canon G2870 setup on macOS
- Power ON the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Connect the Printer to Your Mac:
- Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your Mac.
- Download Drivers:
- Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
- Select your macOS version from the dropdown (e.g., macOS Ventura, Monterey, etc.).
- When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Add Printer to Mac:
- Go to system settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click + to add a printer.
- Mac will automatically detect Canon G2870 via USB.
- Select it and click Add.
Canon G2870 setup on Chromebook
- Power ON the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Connect the Printer to Your Chromebook:
- Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your Chromebook.
- Add Printer to Chromebook:
- Go to system settings on your Chromebook (click on the clock in the bottom-right corner, then click the gear icon)..
- Click on Advanced, Then select Printing.
- Click on Printers.
- Click Add printers. Your Chromebook should automatically detect the Canon PIXMA G2870.
- Select it and click Add.
