Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Unbox and Connect the Printer
- Remove all packaging materials.
- Plug in the power cable and turn the printer ON.
- Connect the printer to your PC using the USB cable that came with the printer.
- Make sure the ink tanks are filled and paper is loaded.

Canon MegaTank G2100 setup on Windows
- Unbox and Connect the Printer
- Remove all packaging materials.
- Plug in the power cable and turn the printer ON.
- Connect the printer to your PC using the USB cable that came with the printer.
- Make sure the ink tanks are filled and paper is loaded.
- Download and Install Drivers
- Search for PIXMA G2100.
- Select Windows as your operating system.
- Download the following:
- Printer Driver
- Scanner Driver
- Optional: My Printer utility, Quick Menu, etc.
- Install the Driver Software
- Run the printer driver setup file you downloaded.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Select USB Connection when prompted.
- The installer will detect the connected printer and install necessary drivers.
- Test the Printer
- After installation completes, go to:
- Start > Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners
- Click the printer → “Manage” → “Print a test page”.
Canon MegaTank G2100 setup on macOS
- Unbox the printer and remove packaging.
- Fill the ink tanks, load paper.
- Connect the USB cable from the printer to your Mac.
- Turn the printer ON.
- Download Mac Drivers
- Search for PIXMA G2100.
- Select macOS as your operating system version (e.g., macOS Ventura, Monterey, etc.).
- Download the following:
- CUPS Printer Driver for Mac
- Scanner Driver
- Install the Drivers
- Open the downloaded .dmg files.
- Run the installer packages.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Restart your Mac if prompted.
- Add the Printer Manually
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners (or System Preferences on older macOS).
- Click the + button to add a new printer.
- Your Canon G2100 should appear under the USB section.
- Select it and ensure the driver selected is “Canon G2100 Series” (not AirPrint).
- Click Add.
- Test Print and Scan
- Print a test page using any document.
Canon MegaTank G2100 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Connect the G2100 to your Windows or Mac and make sure it’s working.
- Install Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app from the App Store on your iPhone/iPad.
- Make sure your iOS device and computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the Canon PRINT app → It should detect the shared printer → Select and print.
- This is the most reliable method for iOS printing with a non-wireless printer.
- USB Printing via Lightning to USB Adapter
- Requirements:
- Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter
- USB Type-B to Type-A printer cable (included with printer)
- Third-party printing apps like Print Central or Printer Pro
- Connect the G2100 to the iPhone using the adapter and cable.
- Open the third-party app (like Print Central).
- The app may detect the printer and allow basic printing
- Requirements:
Canon MegaTank G2100 setup on Android
- Connect your Android device to the printer using USB OTG and printer cable.
On your Android device:
- Install Canon Print Service from the Play Store.
- Go to Settings > Printing > Canon Print Service → Turn it ON.
- Open the file you want to print (e.g., PDF, image).
- Tap Share > Print > Choose Canon G2100.
- Adjust settings and tap Print.
- Not all Android devices support USB printing. If it doesn’t detect the printer, use the below option.
- Print via Shared Printer on Windows PC
- This method uses a Windows PC as a bridge between your printer and Android.
Canon MegaTank G2100 setup on Chromebook
Wireless/Wi-Fi Connection:
- Go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- Click Add Printer → Your shared printer should appear.
- Select it and click Add.
- Now you can print from your Chromebook through your PC.
Wired/USB Connection:
- Connect the G2100 to your Chromebook via USB.
- Open Settings > Printing.
- If your Chromebook detects it, click Set up and add the printer.
However, since Chrome OS has limited Canon USB driver support, this often does not work for the G2100.
Google Drive
- Google Drive + Print from PC
- Save your document on Google Drive or Gmail.
- Access it from a Windows/Mac PC connected to the G2100.
- Print from there.
