Canon PIXMA E3490 setup on Windows
- Download the latest drivers and software package from the bottom of the page.
- Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen prompts.
- When prompted, choose your preferred connection method: USB or Wi-Fi.
- For wireless setup, press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp flashes, then follow the software instructions to connect.
- The installer will detect the printer and complete the driver installation.
- After installation, set the Canon E3490 as your default printer via Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Print a test page to confirm successful setup.
Canon PIXMA E3490 setup on macOS
- Connect the printer to Wi-Fi by pressing and holding the Wi-Fi button until the indicator flashes, then complete setup via WPS or manual mode.
- On your Mac, open System Settings (or System Preferences) and go to Printers & Scanners.
- Click the “+” button to add a new printer.
- Wait for the PIXMA E3490 to appear in the list of available printers.
- Select the printer and wait for macOS to automatically fetch and install the appropriate drivers.
- If the printer doesn’t appear, download the latest macOS drivers and software the bottom of the page.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
- Set the E3490 as your default printer if desired.
- Print a test page to verify connectivity and print quality.
Canon PIXMA E3490 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Ensure the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network using the Wi-Fi button and WPS or manual method.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the App Store and download the Canon Print app.
- Launch the app and grant the necessary permissions (Wi-Fi, location, etc.).
- Tap Add Printer > Register Printer > Auto Search to detect printers on the same network.
- Select the PIXMA E3490 from the list once it appears.
- If the printer is not found, tap Manual Setup and enter the printer’s IP address.
- After connecting, the printer will be displayed on the app’s home screen.
- Use the app to print documents, photos, and check ink levels.

- Connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using the Wi-Fi button setup.
- On the printer, press and hold the Wi-Fi button until the lamp flashes, then use WPS on your router or set up manually.
- On your Chromebook, click the time at the bottom right and go to Settings.
- Scroll down and click Advanced, then select Printing > Printers.
- Under Available Printers, the PIXMA E3490 should appear—click Add.
- If it doesn’t appear, click Add Printer manually.
- Enter a name (e.g., “Canon E3490”), IP address (from a network printout), and select IPP as the protocol.
- Choose Generic or Canon Inkjet driver if listed.
- Click Add to complete the setup.
