Overview
The Canon CP Printer 1500 is a compact wireless photo printer. It is a versatile photo printer that offers a convenient way to print your favorite memories. It allows you to print photos directly from your smartphone, tablets, memory card, or computer wirelessly. It is ideal for home use, events, or on-the-go printing.

- The Printer features an 8.9cm (3.5”) LCD screen and USB-C connectivity for easy printing from smartphones.

Canon SELPHY CP1500 setup on Windows
WIFI Setup
- Wi-Fi Connection:
- Go to “Wi-Fi settings” on the printer, then “Connection Settings”, and choose “Other” and “Direct Connection”.
- Enable Direct Connection:
- Choose “On” and set a password if desired, according to the Canon User Manual.
- On your computer:
- Go to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the SELPHY’s Wi-Fi network (the name will be displayed on the printer).
Alternatively: If you have a Wi-Fi router, you can connect the SELPHY to your home network using WPS or by manually entering the network name and password, according to the Canon User Manual.
USB Setup (Wired Setup):
- Add the Printer in Windows: Open Settings: Go to the Start menu and select “Settings”.
- Select Devices: Click on “Devices” and the click on Printers & scanners and then click “Add a printer or scanner”.
- Select SELPHY CP1500: Look for and select “Canon SELPHY CP1500”.
- Add Device: Click “Add device” to complete the setup.
- USB Connection (if needed): Connect the printer: Use a USB cable to connect the printer to your computer, according to the Canon User Manual.
Printing from a Computer:
- Open your photo software: Launch the software where you have your photos.
- Select the printer: In the printing dialog box, choose “Canon SELPHY CP1500” as the printer.
- Choose printing options: Select paper size, border options, orientation, and other settings.
- Print: Start the printing process.
Canon SELPHY CP1500 setup on macOS
- Connect the Printer:
- Make sure the CP1500 is powered on and connected to your Mac via USB or Wi-Fi.
- Open System Settings:
- Click the Apple menu, then go to System Settings.
- Go to Printers & Scanners:
- In the sidebar, click on Printers & Scanners.
- Add the printer:
- The printer doesn’t appear in the list, click the “+” button.
- Choose the CP1500 from the list: Click “Add”.
- Print a test page (optional): You may be prompted to print a test page to verify the connection.
Printing from Mac :
- Choose the CP1500 as your printer in the print dialog box.
- Open a document or image and select “File > Print”.
- Adjust paper size, orientation, and other options as needed.
- Click “Print”.
Canon SELPHY CP1500 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Using the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app. Download and install the app:
- Download the “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY” app from the App Store.
- Connect your device to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer. Make sure both your iPhone and the CP1500 are connected to the same network.
- Open the app and select your printer. Open the app, and it should automatically find and display the CP1500
Canon SELPHY CP1500 setup on Chromebook
- Connect the printer to Wi-Fi:
- Go to “Wi-Fi settings” on the printer, then “Connection Settings”, and choose “Other” and “Direct Connection”.
- Enable Direct Connection:
- Choose “On” and set a password if desired,
- Access Chromebook settings:
- Click on the time at the bottom right of your Chromebook screen then select “Settings”.
- Navigate to Printers & Scanners:
- Under “Device,” find and select “Printers and scanners”.
- Add the printer:
- Click “Add printer”.
- If the printer isn’t automatically detected, choose “Add printer manually”.
- Enter printer information
- Name: Assign a name to help you identify the printer in your list.
- Address: Enter the printer’s IP address. You may need to find this in the printer’s settings or manual.
- Protocol: Select “Internet Printing Protocol” (IPP).
- Add the printer: Click “Add”.
- Test printing:
- Open a document or photo on your Chromebook and select “Print”.
- Choose the SELPHY CP1500 from the list of available printers.
- If everything is set up correctly, the printer should print your document or photo.
