Overview

The Canon TA-30 is a compact and efficient inkjet printer designed for small offices and home use. Unboxing & Initial Setup

  1. Carefully remove the Canon TA-30 from its packaging, discarding all protective materials.
  2. Open the printer cover and insert the ink cartridges into their respective slots until they click securely into place.
  3. Adjust the paper tray to fit your desired media size and load the paper into the printer.
  4. Connect the power cord to the printer and plug it into a power outlet. Press the power button to turn it on.

Setting up with wi-fi:

Step 1: Installing the Printer Driver

  1. Driver Download Links are in the bottom of the page.
  2. Run the Installer: Open the downloaded setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.
  3. Choose Connection Type: During installation, select your preferred connection method: USB or Wi-Fi.

Step 2: Connecting the Printer

  1. Press the home button on the printer’s touch screen.
  2. Tap on Network icon.
  3. Tap Wi-Fi.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Tap Wi-Fi setup.
  6. Tap Easy wireless connect.
  7. Tap Easy wireless connect and then tap ok or Start.

Step 3: Testing the Printer

  1. Print a Test Page: After setup is complete, print a test page to verify that the printer is functioning correctly.

Setting up with USB:

Step 1: Installing the Printer Driver

  2. Run the Installer: Open the downloaded setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.
  3. Choose Connection Type: During installation, select your preferred connection method: USB or Wi-Fi.

Step 2: Connecting the Printer

  1. When the “Connection method” screen appears, select Use the printer via USB and click Next.
  2. Plug the square end (Type-B) of the USB cable into the back of the printer and the flat end (Type-A) into your computer.

Step 3: Testing the Printer

  1. Print a Test Page: After setup is complete, print a test page to verify that the printer is functioning correctly.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Printer not connecting to wi-fi:
    • Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
    • Solutions:
      • Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
      • Place the printer close to the router
      • Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
      • Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
      • Restart the router and printer
      • Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
  2. Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
    • Solutions:
      • Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
      • Restart your printer and device
      • Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
      • For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
      • On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
  3. Paper Jam:
    • Solutions:
      • Turn off the printer
      • Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
      • Check for torn paper pieces
      • Restart the printer
  4. Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaks, Missing Colors):
    • Solution:
      • Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
      • Run Print Head Cleaning:
      • Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
      • Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
      • Ensure you’re using compatible paper
