The Canon PRO-4000 is a high-performance large-format printer designed for professionals in photography, graphic arts, and fine art printing. Featuring a 12-color LUCIA PRO ink system, it produces stunningly vibrant and accurate prints, making it ideal for detailed artwork and high-quality photographs. With support for various media sizes and types, along with advanced connectivity options, the PRO-4000 is engineered to meet the demands of professional printing.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Carefully remove the Canon PRO-4000 from its packaging, discarding any protective materials.
- Open the printer cover and install the ink cartridges into their respective slots until they click securely.
- Adjust the paper tray or roll holder to fit your desired media size and load the paper into the printer.
- Connect the power cord to the printer and plug it into a power outlet. Press the power button to turn it on.

Installing the Printer Driver
- Driver Download Links are present in the bottom of the page.
- Run the Installer: Open the downloaded setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.
- Choose Connection Type: During the installation process, select your preferred connection method: USB or Wi-Fi.
Connecting the Printer
- USB Setup: For a USB connection, connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable when prompted during installation.
- Wi-Fi Setup: For wireless printing, press the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi indicator blinks. Follow the on-screen prompts to connect the printer to your wireless network.
- Confirm Connection: Ensure your computer or mobile device can detect the printer.
Testing the Printer
- Print a Test Page: After setup, print a test page to verify that the printer is functioning correctly.

Setting up Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000 – IOS:
- Connect to the Wifi:
- Turn on your Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000.
- Make sure your Iphone/Ipad is connected to the secure internet connection.
- Ensure that your printer and device are on the same network.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Go to the app store.
- Search for the “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App”.
- Download and install the app.
- Add printer:
- Go to the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app.
- Now follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer.
- App will search for the available printers, Select your Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000 from the available list.
- Click on Add printer.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon PRO-4000 setup on Android
Setting up Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000 – Android:
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Download the app from the play store.
- Add the printer on the app:
- Click on the add icon on the phone.
- Now click on the register printer.
- Select your Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000.
- Now the printer is installed on your phone.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon PRO-4000 setup on Chromebook
Setting up Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000 – Chrome OS (Wi-fi) :
- Connect the printer to Wifi connection:
- Choose your wifi connection from the available networks.
- Enter the password.
- Wait until the printer displays connected.
- Add Printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the Settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then Printers.
- Your Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
USB Setup (Wired Setup):
- Connect the printer to USB Cable:
- Plug the USB Cable into the printer and the other end to your Chromebook.
- Add printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then printers.
- Click on the Add Printer option.
- Your Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Printer not connecting to wifi:
- Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
- Solutions:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
- Place the printer close to the router
- Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
- Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
- Restart the router and printer
- Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
- Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
- Solutions:
- Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
- Restart your printer and device
- Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
- For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
- On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
- Solutions:
- Paper Jam:

- Turn off the printer
- Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
- Check for torn paper pieces
- Restart the printer
- Solutions:
- Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaks, Missing Colors):
- Solution:
- Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
- Run Print Head Cleaning:
- Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
- Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
- Ensure you’re using compatible paper
- Solution:
