Canon IX6870 WIFI A3 Printer with Ink Tank CISS SystemThe Canon Pixma iX6870 is a single-function, 5-ink color inkjet printer known for its A3+ borderless printing capabilities and wireless connectivity. It features a high print resolution, individual ink tanks (including an optional XXL option), and mobile printing capabilities.

Unboxing & Initial Setup

  1. Take the printer out of the box.
  2. Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
  3. Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
  4. Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
  5. Install the toner cartridges.
  6. Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon iX6870 setup on Windows

Setting up Guide for Windows:

  1. Download the software:
  2. Download the “Full Driver & Software Package”

      2.   Run the installer:Locate the downloaded file and double-click it to start the process.

      3.   Connect the printer:

  1. During the setup, you’ll be prompted to connect the printer to your computer. You can choose either a USB connection or a wireless network connection.
  2. USB: Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable.
  3. Wireless: Ensure your computer and printer are connected to the same wireless network.

     4.   The setup wizard will guide you through the rest of the installation.

     5.   Complete the installation:

  1. Once the installation is complete, you can access the printer’s functions.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Power and Connections:
  2. Ensure the printer is powered on, has ink cartridges properly installed, and is loaded with paper.
  3. USB Connection:
  4. If using a USB connection, make sure the cable is securely plugged into both the printer and the computer.
  5. Wireless Connection:
  6. If using a wireless connection, print a network configuration page to check the printer’s Wi-Fi status and ensure it’s properly connected to the network.
  7. Error Lights:
  8. Observe the printer’s lights. If the alarm lamp flashes orange, it indicates an error, according to Canon support. If the POWER lamp and alarm lamp flash alternately, it may require contacting support.
  9. Paper Jams:
  10. Check for and remove any jammed paper
