This guide will walk you through the setup process, including driver installation and printer connection.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Carefully unpack the Canon PIXMA iX6770 and remove all protective materials. Inside the box, you’ll find ink cartridges, a power cord, and a setup CD.
- Open the printer’s ink compartment and install the five provided ink cartridges (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, Pigment Black) into their corresponding slots.
- Adjust the rear paper tray guides to fit your desired paper size (e.g., A3, A4) and load the paper.
- Connect the power cord, plug the printer into a power outlet, and press the power button to turn it on.

Canon iX6770 setup on Windows
WIFI Setup
- Prepare the printer:
- Press and hold the Setup button on the printer, then use the arrow buttons to select Wireless LAN setup and press OK.
- Select Other setup and press OK.
- Select WPS and press OK.
- Select Push button method and press OK.
- Press the OK button on the printer. The blue Wi-Fi lamp on the printer will start flashing as it searches.
- Within 2 minutes, press and hold the WPS button on your wireless router for a few seconds.
- When the Wi-Fi lamp and Power lamp stop flashing and remain stable, the connection is complete.
- Download the Drivers:
- Download and install the driver from the bottom of the page.
- Once the installation is completed, run the installed file.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
USB Setup (Wired Setup):
- Download the Drivers:
- Download and install the necessary drivers from the bottom of the page.
- Once the driver installation is completed, run the installed file.
- Connect the USB Cable to your printer:
- Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your PC.
- Go to the settings of your PC.
- Search for bluetooth and devices.
- Click on Printers and Scanners.
- From the available printers list select your Canon iX6770.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.

Wi-Fi/Wireless:
- Download Drivers:
- Download the driver package from the bottom of the page.
- Once the installation is completed , run the installed file.
- Prepare the Printer:
- Press and hold the Setup button on the printer, then use the arrow buttons to select Wireless LAN setup and press OK.

- Connect the USB Cable to your printer:
- Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your Mac.
- On your Mac click on the system preference option.
- Now click on Printer and Scanners.
- The available printers list will appear on the screen, select your Canon iX6770.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon iX6770 setup on iPhone & iPad
iOS only support Wireless Connections:
- Connect to the Wifi:
- Turn on your Canon iX6770.
- Make sure your Iphone/Ipad is connected to the secure internet connection.
- Ensure that your printer and device are on the same network.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Go to the app store.
- Search for the “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App”.
- Download and install the app.
- Add printer:
- Go to the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app.
- Now follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer.
- App will search for the available printers, Select your Canon iX6770 from the available list.
- Click on Add printer.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon iX6770 setup on Android
Setting up Canon iX6770 on Android:
- Turn on the Printer:
a. To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the power button. - Connect the Printer to wi-fi:
a. Select wi-fi Connection.
b. Enter the password.
c. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
d. Connect Canon iX6770 to your Wi-Fi network. - Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
a. Open the Play Store on your Phone.
b. Search for “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY”.
c. Tap Download and install the app. - Connect Printer to Wi-Fi Using App:
a. In the Canon PRINT app, click “Add Printer”.
b. Select “Register Printer” > “Connect via Wireless Router”.
c. App will automatically detect your printer.
d. Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect. - Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon iX6770 setup on Chromebook
Wireless/Wifi Connection:
- Connect the printer to Wifi connection:
- Choose your wifi connection from the available networks.
- Enter the password.
- Wait until the printer displays connected.
- Add Printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the Settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then Printers.
- Your Canon iX6770 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
- Print the Test page.
Wired/USB Connection:
- Connect the printer to USB Cable:
- Plug the USB Cable into the printer and the other end to your Chromebook.
- Add printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then printers.
- Click on the Add Printer option.
- Your Canon iX6770 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
- Print the Test page.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Printer not connecting to wi-fi:
- Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
- Solutions:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
- Place the printer close to the router
- Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
- Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
- Restart the router and printer
- Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
- Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
- Solutions:
- Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
- Restart your printer and device
- Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
- For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
- On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver

- Paper Jam:

- Turn off the printer
- Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
- Check for torn paper pieces
- Restart the printer

- Run Print Head Cleaning:
