Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon G5070 setup on Windows
- Remove the Canon G5070 from its box and set it up in a suitable location.
- Plug the printer into a power source and press the power button to turn it on.
- Open the printer’s cartridge area, install the ink cartridges, and load paper into the tray.
- USB Cable: Plug the printer’s USB cable into an available port on your PC.
- Wireless: On the printer’s control panel, go to the wireless settings and select your Wi-Fi network.
- Enter your network credentials.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Print a test page to confirm the setup is complete.
Canon G5070 setup on macOS
- Remove the printer from its packaging and set it in a suitable location.
- Plug in the printer and press the power button to turn it on.
- Install the ink cartridges and load paper into the printer’s paper tray.
- USB Cable: Plug the printer’s USB cable into an available USB port on your Mac.
- Wireless: On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the Wi-Fi settings and connect it to your network.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and follow the installation instructions.
- Open System Preferences on your Mac.
- Go to Printers & Scanners, then click “+” to add the printer.
- Print a test page to confirm everything is working.
Canon G5070 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Unbox the printer, install ink cartridges, and load paper.
- Turn the printer on.
- On the printer’s control panel, go to the Wi-Fi settings.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the network password to connect.
- Open the App Store on your iOS device.
- Search for and install the Canon Print app
- Open the Canon Print app and tap Add Printer.
- The app should automatically detect the Canon G5070 if it’s on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the document or photo you want to print.
- Tap the Share icon, select Print, and choose the Canon G5070 as the printer.
- Print a test page to verify everything is set up correctly.
Canon G5070 setup on Android
- Set up the printer by installing the ink cartridges and loading paper.
- Download the app from the play store.
- Power on the printer.
- On the printer’s control panel, go to the Wi-Fi settings.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect.
- Go to the Google Play Store on your Android device.
- Search for and install the Canon Print app.
- Open the Canon Print app and tap Add Printer.
- The app should automatically detect the Canon G5070 if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Select the printer from the list.
- Open the document or photo you want to print.
- Tap the Share icon, select Print, and choose the Canon G5070 as the printer.
- Print a test page to confirm everything is set up correctly.

Canon G5070 setup on Chromebook
- Unbox the printer, install ink cartridges, and load paper into the tray.
- Turn on the printer.
- On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the Wi-Fi settings.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the network credentials.
- Open Settings on your Chromebook.
- Scroll down to Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- Click Add a Printer.
- Your Canon G5070 should appear in the list of available printers if connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Print a test page to ensure everything is working correctly.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
- Check Wi-Fi connection:
- Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the WiFi connection is stable
- Reset the printer:
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
