Overview
Canon GP-4000 is a 44-inch large professional printer. It is designed for high quality photo printing. Canon GP-4000 comes with Canon’s 11-colour LUCIA PRO pigment ink featuring newly developed, high-impact colors. It has advanced media handling and supports high-volume output. Canon GP-4000 is excellent for fine art, posters, signage, and photo printing. It is enhanced with a security print feature that brings an extra confidence in your data security as utilizing a PIN access system to help prevent leakage due to misidentification, loss.

Canon G4000 setup on Windows
WIFI Setup
- Power on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon GP-4000 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Download Drivers:
- Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
- When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
USB Setup (Wired Setup):
- Turn the printer on:
- Plug into the power cord and press the power button to turn the printer on.
- Download Drivers:
- Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
- When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Connect the Printer to Your PC:
- Connect USB cable when prompted.
- Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your PC.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon G4000 setup on macOS
Wi-Fi/Wireless:
- Power on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon GP-4000 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Download Drivers:
- Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
- Select your macOS version from the dropdown (e.g., macOS Ventura, Monterey, etc.).
- When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Add Printer to Mac:
- Go to system settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click “+” to add a printer.
- The Mac will automatically detect the Canon GP-4000.
- Select it and click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Wired/USB Connection:
- Power on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Download Drivers:
- Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
- When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Connect the Printer to Your Mac:
- Connect USB cable when prompted.
- Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your Mac.
- Add Printer to Mac:
- Go to system settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click “+” to add a printer.
- The Mac will automatically detect the Canon GP-4000.
- Select it and click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
You can also use AirPrint to print without downloading any app:
- Open an image, email, or document.
- Click on the share icon.
- Select Print.
- Select Canon GP-4000 from the printer list.
- Click Print.
Canon G4000 setup on iPhone & iPad
iOS only support Wireless Connections
- Turn the printer on:
- Plug into the power cord and press the power button to turn the printer on.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
- Search for “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY”.
- Tap Download and install the app.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon GP-4000 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Add Printer:
- Click on the “+” icon (usually at the top or bottom of the screen) to add a printer.
- App will search for printers on your Wi-Fi network.
- Your device will automatically detect Canon GP-4000.
- Select it and click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon G4000 setup on Android
- Turn on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the power button.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.

- Open the Play Store on your Phone.
- Search for “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY”.
- Tap Download and install the app.
- Connect Printer to Wi-Fi Using App:
- In the Canon PRINT app, click “Add Printer”.
- Select “Register Printer” > “Connect via Wireless Router”.
- App will automatically detect your printer.
- Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect.
- Print the Test page:

- In the Canon PRINT app, click “Add Printer”.
- Select “Register Printer” > “Connect via Wireless Router”.

- Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect.

- Power on the Printer:
- To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon GP-4000 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Add Printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the Settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then Printers.
- Click the Add printer option to connect the Printer.
- Your Canon GP-4000 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
If ChromeOS doesn’t detect it automatically as Canon GP-4000 has limited support for ChromeOS:
You can add it manually:
- Click on Printers → Add Printer.
- Complete the following fields:
- Name: Canon GP-4000.
- Address: Enter the IP address of the printer.
- Protocol: Select IPP.
- Queue: Usually leave it as /ipp/print or /ipp/port1.
- As soon as the driver is requested:
- Select Generic → Generic IPP Everywhere.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
You can also use AirPrint to print without downloading any app:
- Open an image, email, or document.
- Click on the share icon.
- Select Print.
- Select Canon GP-4000 from the printer list.
- Click Print.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected.
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also, ensure that there is enough ink.
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take them out of the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure that the paper tray is not jammed. You can now shut off the paper tray.
- Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.

- Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
- Update the Driver:
- Outdated drivers may cause problems.
- Check for the latest driver updates for your printer model.
- Download and install the updated driver.
