This guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up the Canon PIXMA G2730, downloading the necessary drivers, and connecting the printer to your devices.

Canon G2730 setup on Windows
Since the G2730 is a wired printer, you must use a USB-B to USB-A cable.
- Preparation: Do not plug the USB cable into the computer until the installer prompts you to do so.
- Download Drivers: * Visit the link below
- Search for “G2730” and download the Driver & Software Package.
- Installation:
- Windows: Run the
.exefile. Follow the on-screen instructions. When asked for the connection method, select USB Connection. - macOS: Open the downloaded
.dmgfile. Canon uses AirPrint technology for most modern Macs via USB, but you may still need the “IJ Scan Utility” for scanning.
- Windows: Run the
- Finalize: Once the software is installed, plug in the USB cable. The computer should recognize the printer immediately.
Canon G2730 setup on macOS
Since the G2730 is a wired printer, you must use a USB-B to USB-A cable.

- Requirements: A USB-B to USB-A cable and an OTG Adapter (USB-A to USB-C or Lightning, depending on your phone).
- Android:
- Download a printing app that supports USB/OTG, such as NokoPrint or the Canon Print Service plugin.
- Connect the printer to your phone using the OTG adapter.
- Open the app, select “USB Printer,” and follow the prompts to install the generic driver.
- iOS (iPhone/iPad):
- iOS support for wired USB printing is very limited. While some specialized apps exist, the G2730 is primarily designed for PC/Mac use. Mobile printing is significantly easier on the Wi-Fi-enabled version (G3730).

Canon G2730 setup on Chromebook
The G2730 is natively compatible with Chrome OS via a wired connection.
- Plug the printer into the Chromebook’s USB port (use an adapter if your Chromebook only has USB-C).
- Open Settings on your Chromebook.
- Go to Advanced > Print and Scan > Printers.
- The G2730 should appear under “Available printers to add.” Click Add.
