Canon MegaTank G1730 setup on Windows
- Remove the printer from packaging, connect the power cable, and turn it on.
- Insert plain paper into the rear input tray.
- Install the included Canon ink bottles to carefully fill each color tank
- Plug the printer into your Windows PC using the supplied USB cable.
- Download Drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver and software.
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners and ensure the G1730 appears in the list.
- Click on the printer and choose “Set as default.”
- Confirm everything works by printing a test document
Canon MegaTank G1730 setup on macOS
- Unpack the printer, plug in the power cable, and turn it on.
- Place A4 or letter paper into the rear input tray.
- Use the included Canon ink bottles to fill each ink tank
- Use the supplied USB cable to connect the printer to your Mac.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded driver file and follow the installation instructions.
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners, click the “+”, and select the G1730 from the list.
- Choose “Canon G1730 series” if prompted.
- Try printing a document to confirm successful setup.
Canon MegaTank G1730 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Unpack the printer, connect the power cord, and switch it on.
- Place plain paper in the rear paper tray.
- Use the provided Canon ink bottles to fill the four ink tanks
- Install the Canon Print app from the App Store.
- Use a Lightning to USB Camera Adapter (sold separately) to connect the printer’s USB cable to your iPhone or iPad.
- Open the app—it should detect the printer automatically via USB.
- Allow USB and file access if prompted.
- Complete any additional steps shown in the app.
- Use the app to print a sample document or photo.
Canon MegaTank G1730 setup on Android
- Remove the printer from the box, plug it in, and switch it on.
- Insert plain paper into the rear tray.
- Use the provided Canon ink bottles to fill the ink tanks carefully.
- Download the Canon Print app from the Google Play Store.
- Use a USB OTG adapter to connect the printer to your Android phone or tablet via the USB cable.
- Open the Canon Print app—it should automatically detect the connected printer.
- Allow any permissions the app requests for USB and file access.
- Complete the on-screen steps to finish setup.
- Select a photo or document and tap Print to verify everything works.
Canon MegaTank G1730 setup on Chromebook
- Remove the printer from the box, plug it in, and power it on.
- Insert plain paper into the rear input tray.
- Use the provided Canon ink bottles to fill the ink tanks correctly.
- Use a USB cable to connect the PIXMA G1730 to your Chromebook.
- Click the time in the lower-right corner > gear icon for Settings.
- Scroll to Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- Chromebook should automatically detect the Canon G1730. Click “Add” when it appears.
- Chrome OS typically configures the printer without needing extra drivers.
- Open any file and select Print to verify the setup.
