Overview
The Canon GX5530 is an all-in-one printer that combines exceptional print quality with cost-effective, high-volume printing thanks to its integrated ink tank system. This printer is ideal for both home and small office use, providing reliable performance and versatile functionality, including printing, scanning, and copying. With wireless connectivity and a compact design, the GX5530 meets all your printing needs efficiently.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Remove the Canon GX5530 from its packaging and take off all protective materials.
- Open the front cover, insert the ink tanks into their respective slots, and push down until they click into place.
- Adjust the paper guides in the rear paper tray to fit your desired paper size and load the paper into the tray.
- Plug the printer into a power outlet and press the power button to turn it on.

Canon GX5530 setup on Windows
Setting up Canon MAXIFY GX5530 Windows (Wi-fi):
- Download the Drivers:
a. Download and install the driver.
b. Once the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
2. Connect the wi-fi to the printer:
a. Press ok when the display shows Wifi setup.
b. Scroll ahead and click on the manual connect.
c. Now scroll forward to choose a wireless network.
d. Now select your network.
e. Enter the password.
f. Click on the settings icon and it will take you to the main screen displaying ready to print.
3. Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Setting up Canon MAXIFY GX5530 on Windows (USB):
- Download the Drivers:
a. Download and install the driver.
b. Once the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
2. Connect the printer with USB cable:
a. Plug the one end of the cable to the printer and one end to your PC.
b. Now go to the settings.
c. Click on bluetooth and devices.
d. Now click on Printers and Scanners.
e. From the available printers list select your Canon MAXIFY GX5530.
3. Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.

Setting up Canon MAXIFY GX5530 Mac (Wi-fi):
- Download the Drivers:
a. Download and install the driver.
b. Once the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
2. Connect the Printer to wi-fi:
a. Select wifi connection.
b. Enter the password.
c. Connect Canon MAXIFY GX5530 to your selected wi-fi network.
3. Add printer (If Required):
a. Open the system settings > Printers & Scanners.
b. Click on add a printer, scanner, fax.
c. Select your printer and click Add.
4. Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Setting up Canon MAXIFY GX5530 Mac (USB):
- Download the Drivers:
a. Download the full driver package.
b. Once the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
2. Add printer (If Required):
a. Open the system settings > Printers & Scanners.
b. Click on add a printer, scanner, fax.
c. Select your printer and click Add.
3. Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon GX5530 setup on iPhone & iPad
Setting up Canon MAXIFY GX5530 IOS:
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
a. Go to the app store.
b. Search for the “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App”.
c. Download and install the app.
2. Add Printer:
a. In the app click on Add printer.
b. Now click on the Add switch.
c. Click on Register Printer.
d. Your phone will automatically detect Canon MAXIFY GX5530, Now select it.
3. Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon GX5530 setup on Android
Setting up Canon MAXIFY GX5530 on Android:
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
a. Download the app from the play store.
2. Add the printer on the app:
a. Click on the add icon on the phone.
b. Now click on the register printer.
c. Select your Canon MAXIFY GX5530.
d. Now the printer is installed on your phone.
3. Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon GX5530 setup on Chromebook
Wireless/Wifi Connection:
- Connect the printer to Wifi connection:
- Choose your wifi connection from the available networks.
- Enter the password.
- Wait until the printer displays connected.
- Add Printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the Settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then Printers.
- Your Canon GX5530 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
- Print the Test page.
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Wired/USB Connection:
- Connect the printer to USB Cable:
- Plug the USB Cable into the printer and the other end to your Chromebook.
- Add printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then printers.
- Click on the Add Printer option.
- Your Canon GX5530 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
- Print the Test page.
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected.
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also, ensure that there is enough ink.
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take them out of the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure that the paper tray is not jammed. You can now shut off the paper tray.
- Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
- Make sure that the WIFI connection is stable.
- Update the Driver:
- Outdated drivers may cause problems.
- Check for the latest driver updates for your printer model.
- Download and install the updated driver.
