The Canon GX5070 is a compact all-in-one inkjet printer designed for home offices and small businesses, featuring Canon’s advanced MegaTank technology. Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Unbox the Printer: Carefully remove the printer from its packaging, ensuring to discard any protective materials.
- Position the Printer: Place the printer on a stable surface with adequate space for paper handling and easy access to controls.
- Open the Ink Tank Cover: Lift the cover to access the ink tanks.
- Fill the Ink Tanks: Using the included ink bottles, carefully fill each tank (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow), making sure not to overfill.
- Close the Ink Tank Cover: Ensure the cover is securely closed after filling all tanks.
- Load Paper: Pull out the paper tray and adjust the guides to fit the size of the paper being used. Load the paper into the tray, ensuring it is properly aligned.
- Power On the Printer: Connect the power cord and press the power button to turn on the printer.

Canon GX5070 setup on Windows
Setting up Canon MAXIFY GX5070 Windows (Wi-fi):
- Download the Drivers:
a. Download and install the driver.
b. Once the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Turn on the printer:
a. Plug into the power and press the power button to turn the printer on.
b. Wait for the printer to start and select your preferred language from the display panel.
- Fill the ink tanks:
a. Open the ink chamber and lift it up.
b. Remove the cap from the ink bottle and place it facing down.
c. Once the bottle is empty, take the bottle out.
d. Now close the cap.
- Load the paper:
a. Take the paper tray out from the front.
b. Now place the paper properly in the tray and close the tray.
- Connect the wifi to the printer:
a. Press ok when the display shows Wifi setup.
b. Scroll ahead and click on the manual connect.
c. Now scroll forward to choose a wireless network.
d. Now select your network.
e. Enter the password.
f. Click on the settings icon and it will take you to the main screen displaying ready to print.
- Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Setting up Canon MAXIFY GX5070 on Windows (USB):
- Download the Drivers:
a. Download and install the driver.
b. Once the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Turn on the printer:
a. Plug into the power and press the power button to turn the printer on.
b. Wait for the printer to start and select your preferred language from the display panel.
- Connect the printer with USB cable:
a. Plug the one end of the cable to the printer and one end to your PC.
b. Now go to the settings.
c. Click on bluetooth and devices.
d. Now click on Printers and Scanners.
e. From the available printers list select your Canon MAXIFY GX5070.
- Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.

Setting up Canon MAXIFY GX5070 Mac (Wi-fi):
- Download the Drivers:
a. Download and install the driver.
b. Once the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Turn on the printer:
a. Plug into the power and press the power button to turn the printer on.
b. Wait for the printer to start and select your preferred language from the display panel.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
a. Select wifi connection.
b. Enter the password.
c. Connect Canon MAXIFY GX5070 to your selected wi-fi network.
- Add printer (If Required):
a. Open the system settings > Printers & Scanners.
b. Click on add a printer, scanner, fax.
c. Select your printer and click Add.
- Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Setting up Canon MAXIFY GX5070 Mac (USB):
- Download the Drivers:
a. Download the full driver package.
b. Once the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Turn on the printer:
a. Plug into the power and press the power button to turn the printer on.
b. Wait for the printer to start and select your preferred language from the display panel.
- Add printer (If Required):
a. Open the system settings > Printers & Scanners.
b. Click on add a printer, scanner, fax.
c. Select your printer and click Add.
- Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon GX5070 setup on iPhone & iPad
Setting up Canon MAXIFY GX5070 IOS:
- Turn on the printer:
a. Plug into the power and press the power button to turn the printer on.
b. Wait for the printer to start and select your preferred language from the display panel.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
a. Go to the app store.
b. Search for the “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App”.
c. Download and install the app.
- Add Printer:
a. In the app click on Add printer.
b. Now click on the Add switch.
c. Click on Register Printer.
d. Your phone will automatically detect Canon MAXIFY GX5070, Now select it.
- Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon GX5070 setup on Android
Setting up Canon MAXIFY GX5070 on Android:
- Turn on the printer:
a. Plug into the power and press the power button to turn the printer on.
b. Wait for the printer to start and select your preferred language from the display panel.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
a. Download the app from the play store.
- Add the printer on the app:
a. Click on the add icon on the phone.
b. Now click on the register printer.
c. Select your Canon MAXIFY GX5070.
d. Now the printer is installed on your phone.
- Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected.
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also, ensure that there is enough ink.
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take them out of the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure that the paper tray is not jammed. You can now shut off the paper tray.
- Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
- Make sure that the WIFI connection is stable.
- Update the Driver:
- Outdated drivers may cause problems.
- Check for the latest driver updates for your printer model.
- Download and install the updated driver.
