Overview

The Canon GX3070 is a feature-rich all-in-one inkjet printer designed for home and small office environments, leveraging Canon’s MegaTank technology for efficient and cost-effective printing. This model excels in delivering high-quality prints, fast performance, and versatile functionality, making it suitable for various document handling tasks.

Unboxing & Initial Setup

  1. Carefully remove the printer from the packaging, discarding any protective materials.
  2. Place the printer on a flat, stable surface with enough room for paper handling and easy access to controls.
  3. Open the Ink Tank Cover: Lift the cover to access the ink tanks.
  4. Fill the Ink Tanks: Using the provided ink bottles, carefully fill each tank (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow), avoiding overfilling.
  5. Close the Ink Tank Cover: Ensure the cover is securely closed after filling all tanks.
  6. Load Paper: Pull out the paper tray and adjust the guides to fit the size of the paper being used. Load the paper, ensuring it is properly aligned.
  7. Power On the Printer: Connect the power cord and press the power button to turn on the printer.

Canon GX3070 setup on Windows

Note: Ensure your Windows PC is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you intend to connect the printer to.

  • Download the Setup Software:
    • Driver Downloads are available in the Bottom of the page.
    • Click on “Download” to obtain the setup file.
  • Run the Setup File:
    • Locate the downloaded file and double-click to run it.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to begin the installation.
  • Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi:
    • When prompted, select “Wireless LAN Connection” as the connection method.
    • Choose “Easy Wireless Connect” and follow the instructions to put the printer in setup mode.
    • The software will detect the printer and prompt you to select your Wi-Fi network.
    • Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted.
  • Complete the Installation:
    • Once connected, the software will install the necessary drivers.
    • After installation, print a test page to confirm successful setup.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Printer not connecting to wi-fi:
    • Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
    • Solutions:
      • Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
      • Place the printer close to the router
      • Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
      • Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
      • Restart the router and printer
      • Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
  2. Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
    • Solutions:
      • Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
      • Restart your printer and device
      • Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
      • For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
      • On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
  3. Paper Jam:
    • Solutions:
      • Turn off the printer
      • Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
      • Check for torn paper pieces
      • Restart the printer
  4. Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaks, Missing Colors):
    • Solution:
      • Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
      • Run Print Head Cleaning:
      • Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
      • Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
      • Ensure you’re using compatible paper
