Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon GX1030 setup on Windows
WIFI Setup
- Prepare the printer:
- Go to the printer display panel and click on the setting icon.
- Click on the printer setting.
- Click on LAN settings.
- Select wi-fi.
- Select wi-fi setup.
- Choose manual connect.
- Your printer will start searching for available networks.
- Select your wi-fi network.
- Select use one router only and press ok.
- Select mac address.
- Enter your wi-fi password.
- Press ok and your printer is connected.
- Download the Drivers:
- Download and install the driver from the bottom of the page.
- Once the installation is completed, run the installed file.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
USB Setup (Wired Setup):
- Download the Drivers:
- Download and install the necessary drivers from the bottom of the page.
- Once the driver installation is completed, run the installed file.
- Connect the USB Cable to your printer:
- Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your PC.
- Go to the settings of your PC.
- Search for bluetooth and devices.
- Click on Printers and Scanners.
- From the available printers list select your Canon MAXIFY GX1030.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon GX1030 setup on macOS
Wi-Fi/Wireless:
- Download Drivers:
- Download the driver package from the bottom of the page.
- Once the installation is completed , run the installed file.
- Prepare the Printer:
- Go to the printer display panel and click on the setting icon.
- Click on the printer setting.
- Click on LAN settings.
- Select wi-fi.
- Select wi-fi setup.
- Choose manual connect.

Wired/USB Connection:
- Download Drivers:
- Download the driver package from the bottom of the page.
- Once the installation is completed , run the file.
- Connect the USB Cable to your printer:
- Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your Mac.
- On your Mac click on the system preference option.
- Now click on Printer and Scanners.
- The available printers list will appear on the screen, select your Canon MAXIFY GX1030.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon GX1030 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Connect to the Wifi:
- Turn on your Canon MAXIFY GX1030.
- Make sure your Iphone/Ipad is connected to the secure internet connection.
- Ensure that your printer and device are on the same network.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Go to the app store.
- Search for the “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App”.
- Download and install the app.
- Add printer:
- Go to the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app.
- Now follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer.
- App will search for the available printers, Select your Canon MAXIFY GX1030 from the available list.
- Click on Add printer.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon GX1030 setup on Android
- Turn on the Printer:
To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the power button. - Connect the Printer to wi-fi:
Select wi-fi Connection.
Enter the password.
Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
Connect Canon MAXIFY GX1030 to your Wi-Fi network. - Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
Open the Play Store on your Phone.
Search for “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY”.
Tap Download and install the app. - Connect Printer to Wi-Fi Using App:
In the Canon PRINT app, click “Add Printer”.
Select “Register Printer” > “Connect via Wireless Router”.
App will automatically detect your printer.
Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect. - Print the Test page:
Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon GX1030 setup on Chromebook
Wireless/Wifi Connection:
- Connect the printer to Wifi connection:
- Choose your wifi connection from the available networks.
- Enter the password.
- Wait until the printer displays connected.
- Add Printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the Settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then Printers.
- Your Canon MAXIFY GX1030 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
- Print the Test page.
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Wired/USB Connection:
- Connect the printer to USB Cable:
- Plug the USB Cable into the printer and the other end to your Chromebook.
- Add printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then printers.
- Click on the Add Printer option.
- Your Canon MAXIFY GX1030 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
- Print the Test page.
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected. - Check the cartridges:
Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also, ensure that there is enough ink. - Check paper:
If the papers are not arranged correctly, take them out of the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure that the paper tray is not jammed. You can now shut off the paper tray. - Check Wi-Fi Connection:
Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
Make sure that the WIFI connection is stable. - Update the Driver:
Outdated drivers may cause problems.
Check for the latest driver updates for your printer model.
Download and install the updated driver.
