Overview

The Canon GP-566S is a professional-grade large format printer designed to deliver high-quality prints for a variety of applications, including photography, fine art, and graphic design. It features Canon’s LUCIA PRO ink technology, which provides a wide color gamut, exceptional detail, and deep blacks, ensuring vibrant and accurate color reproduction.

Unboxing & Initial Setup

  1. Take the printer out of the box.
  2. Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
  3. Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
  4. Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
  5. Install the toner cartridges.
  6. Load paper into the paper roll.

Canon GP-566S setup on Windows

  1. Prepare the printer:
    • Go to the LAN settings option on the printer’s operation panel.
    • Select Wi-Fi, and then select Settings.
    • Select WiFi setup.
    • Select the Easy wireless connect method.
    • Select the Standard setup and manually choose your network name (SSID) from the list and enter the password.
    • Your printer is connected.
  2. Download Drivers:
    • Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
    • When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. Print the Test page:
    • Print a test page to confirm the setup.

Wired/USB Connection:

  1. Download Drivers:
    • Download the driver package from the bottom of the page.
    • Once the installation is completed , run the file.
  2. Connect the USB Cable to your printer:
    • Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your PC.
    • On your PC click on the system preference option.
    • Now click on Printer and Scanners.
    • The available printers list will appear on the screen, select your Canon GP-566S.
  3. Print the Test page:
    • Print a test page to confirm the setup.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check the power:
    Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected.
  2. Check the cartridges:
    Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also, ensure that there is enough ink.
  3. Check paper:
    If the papers are not arranged correctly, take them out of the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure that the paper tray is not jammed. You can now shut off the paper tray.
  4. Check Wi-Fi Connection:
    Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
    Make sure that the WIFI connection is stable.
  5. Update the Driver:
    Outdated drivers may cause problems.
    Check for the latest driver updates for your printer model.
    Download and install the updated driver.
