Overview
Canon GP-540 is a 1117.6mm (44in) graphics printer with PANTONE™ that delivers impressive vibrant colors. It is designed for high-impact graphics, posters, and proofing applications. The entire print process encrypts and transmits data and print jobs via a secure channel. Canon GP-540 comes with five recently created colors which are red, orange, green, violet, and fluorescent pink that offers a broad color spectrum and excellent color performance.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon GP-540 setup on Windows
Setting up Canon GP-540 on Windows with Wifi:
- Power on the Printer:
a. To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button. - Connect the Printer to wifi:
a. Select wifi Connection.
b. Enter the password.
c. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
d. Connect Canon GP-540 to your Wi-Fi network. - Download Drivers:
a. Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
b. When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions. - Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Setting up Canon GP-540 on Windows with USB:
- Turn the printer on:
a. Plug into the power cord and press the power button to turn the printer on. - Connect the Printer to Your PC:
a. Connect USB cable when prompted.
b. Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your PC. - Download Drivers:
a. Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
b. When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions. - Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon GP-540 setup on macOS
Setting up Canon GP-540 on Mac with Wifi:
- Power on the Printer:
a. To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button. - Connect the Printer to wifi:
a. Select wifi Connection.
b. Enter the password.
c. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
d. Connect Canon GP-540 to your Wi-Fi network. - Download Drivers:
a. Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
b. Select your macOS version from the dropdown (e.g., macOS Ventura, Monterey, etc.).
c. When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions. - Add Printer to Mac:
a. Go to system settings > Printers & Scanners.
b. Click “+” to add a printer.
c. The Mac will automatically detect the Canon GP-540.
d. Select it and click Add. - Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Setting up Canon GP-540 on Mac with USB:
- Power on the Printer:
a. To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button. - Download Drivers:
a. Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
b. When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions. - Connect the Printer to Your Mac:
a. Connect USB cable when prompted.
b. Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your Mac. - Add Printer to Mac:
a. Go to system settings > Printers & Scanners.
b. Click “+” to add a printer.
c. The Mac will automatically detect the Canon GP-540.
d. Select it and click Add. - Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected. - Check the cartridges:
Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also, ensure that there is enough ink. - Check paper:
If the papers are not arranged correctly, take them out of the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure that the paper tray is not jammed. You can now shut off the paper tray. - Check Wi-Fi Connection:
Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
Make sure that the WIFI connection is stable. - Update the Driver:
Outdated drivers may cause problems.
Check for the latest driver updates for your printer model.
Download and install the updated driver.
