Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Remove the printer from the box, and ensure all components (printer, power cord, and ink) are included.
- Plug in the power cord and turn on the printer.
- Insert paper into the paper tray according to the printer’s manual.
- Open the ink compartment and insert the ink cartridges.

Canon GM2030 setup on Windows
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer driver.
- Use a USB cable to connect the printer to your PC, or choose the appropriate wireless setup if available.
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click on Canon GM2030, and select “Set as Default Printer.”
- Print a test page to ensure proper setup.
Canon GM2030 setup on macOS
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer driver.
- Use a USB cable to connect the printer to your Mac, or choose a wireless connection if applicable.
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, click the “+” button, and select the Canon GM2030.
- Print a test page to verify the printer is set up correctly.
Canon GM2030 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iOS device.
- Go to the App Store, search for Canon Print app, and install it.
- Launch the Canon Print app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap the “+” icon in the app to search for and select the Canon GM2030.
- Select a document or image, then tap the print icon and choose the Canon GM2030 to print from your iOS device.
Canon GM2030 setup on Android
- Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Android device.
- Go to the Google Play Store, search for “Canon Print app, and install it.
- Launch the Canon Print app on your Android device.
- Tap the “+” icon in the app to search for and select the Canon GM2030.
- Select a document or image to print and follow the app’s prompts to print from your Android device.
Canon GM2030 setup on Chromebook
- Plug the printer into the Chromebook using a USB cable.
- Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromebook.
- Go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- Click “Add Printer,” then select the Canon GM2030 from the list.
- Set as Default Printer: If desired, set the Canon GM2030 as your default printer.
- Print a test page to confirm proper setup.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
- Check WiFi connection:
- Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the WiFi connection is stable
- Reset the printer:
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers:
- If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
