Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon G7050 setup on Windows
- Connect the Canon G7050 to your network via Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable. Ensure the printer is powered on.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and follow the installation wizard’s prompts to install the necessary software and drivers.
- During installation, choose the connection method (Wi-Fi or USB) and allow the software to detect the printer on your network or via USB.
- Once detected, the software will complete the installation. Click Finish to complete the process.
- Go to Devices and Printers in Windows Settings to set up preferences like default paper size and print quality.
- Print a test page to confirm successful installation and connection.
Canon G7050 setup on macOS
- Ensure the Canon G7050 is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi or Ethernet network as your Mac.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded .dmg file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers and software.
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, then click the “+” button. Select the Canon G7050 from the list of available printers.
- Ensure that the correct Canon driver is selected and not the AirPrint option for full functionality.
- Set default print options, such as paper size and print quality, within the Printers & Scanners menu.
- Print a test page to confirm that the printer is properly connected and set up.
Canon G7050 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Ensure the Canon G7050 is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone or iPad.
- Download the Canon Print app from the App Store.
- Launch the Canon Print app and allow any necessary permissions (e.g., access to photos or local network).
- The app will automatically search for available Canon printers on the network. Select the G7050 when it appears.
- If the printer isn’t detected automatically, tap the “+” icon, enter the printer’s IP address, and connect.
- Choose a document, photo, or file from your device or cloud storage.
- Configure print settings such as paper size, number of copies, and color options.
- Tap Print to send the job to the printer.
- Check the printer to ensure the document printed successfully.
Canon G7050 setup on Android
- Ensure the Canon G7050 is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Android device.
- Download and install the Canon Print Business app from the Google Play Store.
- Launch the Canon Print app and grant any necessary permissions (e.g., access to photos, network).
- The app will automatically search for available printers on the network. Select the Canon G7050 when it appears.
- If the printer isn’t detected, tap Manual IP, enter the printer’s IP address, and connect.
- Open the file you want to print from your device or cloud storage within the app.
- Select preferences such as paper size, color, and number of copies.
- Tap Print to send the job to the printer.
- Check the printer for successful output.
Canon G7050 setup on Chromebook
- Ensure the Canon G7050 is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromebook.
- Click the time in the bottom-right corner and select Settings.
- Under Advanced, go to Printing and then click on Printers.
- The G7050 should automatically appear if it is connected to the same network. Select it from the list.
- If the printer is not detected, select Add manually, input the printer’s IP address, and ensure the correct protocol (IPP) is selected.
- After adding, you can set the Canon G7050 as your default printer from the Printers section in Settings.
- Try printing a test document to ensure the printer is set up correctly.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
- Check WiFi connection:
- Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the Wi-Fi connection is stable
- Reset the printer:
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers:
- If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
